Dear faculty staff, students, alumni friends at home abroad,

The fruitful 2016 is coming to an end the promising 2017 is approaching. At this turn of the year, I would like to extend my cordial greetings best wishes to all of you wish all of you good health all the best in the New Year.

As long as we pay, there will be gains.2016 is an unforgettable year worth to be memorized treasured by everyone at GXMUCS. This year, our college has achieved a leap-forward development in all undertakings, ushering in a good start in the "13th Five-Year Plan" period. 

Impressive achievements in dental education: we have optimized our curriculum teaching evaluation system in line with the standards of competency-based dental education; actively enriched our teaching means measures such as introducing MOOCs, Simodont Dental Training System, HD Video Recording-Broadcasting System, 3D Teaching System, etc.; set up “Jincan Outstanding Talents Scholarship” to support excellent dental students for exchange visits; gained 18 projects in educational reform won 5 prizes in teaching competition at all levels.

Remarkable enhancement in scientific research: we have gained 4 scientific research projects funded by National Science Foundation of China (NSFC), including one funded by the NSFC Young Scientists Fund, which marks a breakthrough in the history of our college. Among those research achievements, we won one first prize one second prize in “Guangxi Science Technology Progress Award”, two first prizes in “Guangxi Medical Health Technology Promotion Award”, obtained two national invention patents.

Further expansion in domestic overseas exchanges collaboration: We have successfully held the 5th China-ASEAN Forum on Dentistry which is recognized as a great academic event with the highest level in dentistry in China-ASEAN region; established friendly schools with Columbia University College of Dental Medicine New York University College of Dentistry, USA; with the support of National Health Family Planning Commission, jointly built the China-Cambodia Dental Health Collaboration Center with University of Health Sciences, Cambodia, cultivating the flowers of China-Cambodia friendship blooming to full bloom.

Steady progress in dental health care outreach service: with increasingly improved medical quality over 230,000 out-patients yearly, we have been rated as one of the "Best Specialized Hospitals” in China for three consecutive times, being the only one in Guangxi. Besides, we have carried out more than 10 national provincial public dental health projects, providing free dental health service for over 10 thouspeople around Guangxi.

Year's end is neither an end nor a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us. 2017 will be full of opportunities challenges, which promises to be more exciting inspiring. I hope all of our staff faculty keep on a good momentum for greater development in the upcoming New Year. I believe, with your sustained efforts determination, our college is sure to have a brighter more prosperous future!
