Lighting Childrens' Hope for Pursuing Dreams
Consisting of medical staff from College of Stomatology, GXMU, a team from Guangxi Comprehensive Prevention Treatment on Dental Diseases Project for Orphans Children with Disability, cares deeply for vulnerable groups. On the occasion of international Children’s Day, Dr. Qiu Rongmin led a team of over ten medical members to conduct Comprehensive Prevention Treatment on Dental Diseases Project for Orphans Children with Disability in a special education school in Yulin. With enthusiasm for public service, they actively threw themselves into the treatment regardless of travel fatigue. They help to check up over 300 children’s oral hygiene, treat common oral diseases including pit fissure sealing for over 150 children provided teachers students with dental health education in various ways in special school, charity house rehabilitation center for people with disability in Yulin, being well received by teachers students.
Since oral health lays the foundation of lifelong health, China Oral Health Foundation applied from the Ministry of Civil Affairs for central government fund to support social groups in participating in Comprehensive Prevention Treatment on Dental Diseases Project for Orphans Children with Disability in western China it was approved. College of Stomatology, Guangxi Medical University was appointed to undertake the project. Therefore, leaders from the college gave full support to the project by setting up a project team with Professor Zhou Nuo as the team leader. Department of Pediatric Dentistry put the project into concrete deeds by, for instance, providing all medical staff with specialized training, ensuring smooth implementation high-quality completion of the project.
